If you're plugging the iPod into the AUX jack, there is no 2-way communication between the HU and the iPod. I'm not familiar with how you'd use the HU to access your iPod but I'll guess there's some other equipment that'll dock the iPod which allows it to communicate with the HU.

I don't have the Trip Tunes adapter, I have the iSimple adapter from Best Buy. It works, with my nano 4 gig and my classic 120 gig. Ultimately, I'm not happy with the ipod interface you are forced with on the factory unit's so I'm waiting to pull the trigger on a Pioneer, eventually. Having to scroll through possibly hundreds of album folders to get to the right one is a pain on the Ford head unit.

thanks for the comments i am currently looking around to see if anyone has ipod classic of video. i was just wondering i have a stock 4 speaker audio, if i change the speakers to better quality ones, would i get more clear sounds? or do i need to change out the HU?

I would really suggest replacing the Ford head unit with one that supports mp3's, whether you need an adapter for it or not. I had a JVC that was compatible with a cd changer, but they (JVC) also sold a ipod adapter that you could use in that port instead. The browsing on it was much easier than the Ford unit is. There are definately better options.
