Default Good news on rear end

Stopped by the dealer today to check if they got a mustang with options I wanted, that didn't go well but I went away happier than ever. I was looking at the rear plastic and when I went in to check wheel wall I noticed bumper and black plastic are seperate pieces. From what I could tell its held in by a screw on each side possibly some other stuff on bottom but nothing I could see.

I'm surprised nobody thought to check that out until now. Interesting. There's always aftermarket bumpers too.

pretty cool, instead of a full bumper replacement all you need is the lower part replaced. it's going to be interesting to see what the aftermarket industry has to offer.

I knew that plastic rear end wasn't going to fly with mustang fans. What really gets me is that someone thought it looked good.

IMO if it was just painted the same as the body color it wouldn't look that bad.

Since I am going to be ordering mine before the end of summer, I have alreay been looking and there are several places already advertising body kits for the 2010. I am just surprised how many people are bitching about the looks of the car from a piece of black plastic around the bottom of the car. Most of my mustang buds are not even running the stock front or rear ends on the current 05 - 09 body so what would make people think the new car would not have options as well. Do I love the rear-end of the new car...NO But the whole car overall is an improvement and I for one had the vision to see buying this new model would give me a better overall car that i could mod what i didn't like....Geez, it's a Mustang!! Funny thing is my '05 is the only one I have owned that I have not changed the body panels on, not because i didn't think it needed it, but because I did not have the time or money to put into it.

I think with a new front bumper, grill, headlights, hood ,back bumper and tail lights it could look awesome.
