Ive been lookin at those iron cobra blocks. Does anyoen know the weight difference? How are they strength wise vs. aluminum? Notice a difference in handling with the weight difference?

Congrats and looks like you got the HP (for the most part) that you were shooting for in the first place.....my only concern is what timing is it set at (max)? and your A/F ratio on a boosted application should be around 11.3-11.7 (give or take) at WOT not 12.2 which IMO is a bit lean.

All depends on the fuel used and if meth/water injection was used. And if you keep IAT down you don't need the extra fuel to cool the charge to stop det.

I'm sure compression ratio plays a role. Assuming it isn't 9.8:1.

Why only 14.9psi? I thought steeda was coming out with smaller pulleys?

Get the right fuel for compression+boost and you can run what ever combo you want. Remember the F1 cars from the 80's that ran tolulene/water/meth fuels. High compression and lots of boost.

Any way 12.2 is lean on just pump fuel at ~15psi.

Livernois quoted me that an iron 4.6L block is only 50 lbs more than an alum. For their build a built SB is $700 cheaper in iron. I decided to stick with alum. You would need new motor mounts and some of the front dress I think.

OP - Very interesting I am surprised you are maxing out the blower at 15psi. Also since you have a stroker and P&P heads as well as LT's I assume, I would figure a "16 lb" pulley would give far less boost. As boost is only a measure of restriction when you have a free flowing setup the "boost" reading normally goes down requireing the use of a smaller pulley to get it back. Hope that makes sense.

I have long term goals similar to what you did with the exception of reusing the stock heads as is and running an SPR blower cam. I am aiming for 600rwhp. But would be happy in the mid 500's.

Please post more specific on your setup if you can, ie complete mod list.

I am running under 18 degrees of timing. I also have BBK Shorty Headers.
I had my builder Port and Polish the Stock Heads. On the Steeda set up they only change out the lower pulley, the upper pulley on the stock kit comes as small as they make. I do have their 16# lower pulley. On my set up the boost starts to drop off after 4200 RPM. My compression ratio is 9.1 to 1. I hope this answered some of your questions. Jim
