Default Intercooler Question

So I'm getting pretty close to pulling the trigger on the Brenspeed Non-Intercooled Vortech supercharger kit, just trying to get the final ok from the wifey... she's doesn't see this as a necessity. :-(

Anyways, my question is about adding an intercooler later on. I know I can buy the charge cooler kit from Brenspeed for around $1700, but am I limited to just that specific Vortech charge cooler or are other intercoolers 'compatible' with the Vortech?

The real reason I ask is because I can just get the $3800 Vortech kit now and upgrade later for $1700 or so, bringing my total price to $5500. Or I can just get their intercooled Paxton kit for $5000 right now... though anything over $4000 is going to be a hard sell to the wifey.

Those are actually Vortech aftercoolers not intercoolers. I would think you can use any aftercooler you can plumb in the system. Instead of trying to custom plum another brand aftrecooler, I would just buy that nice Vortech unit and be done.

I would personally buy the intercooler with any F/I, that's what i plan on doing. It is tempting just to buy a non-intercooled kit and have the power now, but i know i will want an intercooler after and it will only cost more to do it after. Will you be doing install, because i heard centri's cost a couple hundred bucks more for install. Are you set on centri's? I know a reputable shop here in houston that gives you a turbonetics 60mm turbo complete package with install and tune (SCT tuner included) for $5.5k.
