I am looking to buy a set of Black 18x9 Saleen S Style Wheels.

I know the recommended sizes are:

245/45/18
255/45/18
275/40/18

I am wondering what other sizes would be compatible... I am mainly looking to get some decent tires to mount on the rims (at least as good as the stock tires), til I can afford to buy a better tire.

Most tire manufacturers specify no wider than 275's for a 9" rim. In the other direction, you could go as slim as 235's but why would you want to? Other than that, the size you choose depends on if you can adjust your speedometer using a handheld, if you have one, or if you don't, picking a tire to match your existing diameter.

try discounttire.com,you can usually get good tires for less there. You might be able to squeeze a 285/40zr18 on for the back and run 255/45zr18 fronts. Other than that I would do 255/45 all around or 275/40 out back with 245/45 up front.

I ran 285/35(?)s on my new edge's Saleens, they fit perfectly.


Personally, I think these cars need more rubber than a 275/40 profile. I'd go 275/45's.
