Never hurts to ask. Worst case just get a new optima or something else besides a motorcraft.

THe battery should be covered for 3 years, especially if it dies like that and fails to hold a charge. Unfortunately mine died at 3 1/2 years so I was SOL and had to buy a replacement.
Welcome to the club of the many who've had the Dead Battery syndrome!
