good gripping tire for cheap.. possible?

Yeah, they have been real cheap for a while now.
Its what I run, but I think for the rear you meant 285/40

The 255/45's (fronts) cost me 116.00 right now.

They actually are pretty good in the rain. I have gotten on it in the rain and they hold pretty darn good. Even on a fishtail they recover quickly.
When I did my suspension work on the way home from doing an alignment I got caught in a slushy storm and was surprised how actually they did in the cold slush too, but not recommend for winter driving.

I have ran them on a 3 mile 21 turn road course and was very pleased with the grip.

also 50/100 rebate program starts tomorrow, and goes til July 11th

tirerack doesnt have 285/40 for the HTR z III . they have a 275/40 and a 285/30 and a 285/35. If i want to just buy two for the back, which ones should i go with ???

I just picked up 2 255/50/17 Nitto NT555's from NTB in stafford, tx for 124 a piece! Not too bad if you ask me.
