Thumbs up JBA shorty's + Boomtubes, stock H pipe...

Just got my JBA's installed the other day and after hearing it rev for the first time all I could say was "Damnnn".... The tone now is deeper, but on idle it's actually quieter somewhat smoother and more refined. WOT is loud almost ferocious, I couldn't be any more happier with this set-up.

I can definitely feel a difference in horsepower gained, (don't know how much HP gained) there's no doubt about the new kick. MPG's have also increased by 3 MPG (cruise control set @ 80MPH) on my daily 82 mile round trip to work.

I will post sound clips over the weekend of this set-up if anyone interested.

Money well spent, best performance mod on my car so far.

How much did they cost you and did you install yourself? Ive wanted LTs for a while but i cant afford the ~1000 installed price, if i could install shorties myself and get some cheap it sounds like a good idea, i was planning on boom tubes already.
+1 on sound clip

a 3MPG increase sounds amazing, i commute to school ~90 miles round trip 4 days a week and since i finish school tommorrow id love to start modding over the summer and have more power, looks, and fuel economy by next semester.

Anyone else see similar MPG gains? That would make a great selling point to my parents! They already dont want me to mod, but they know i spend alot of money on gas.

Congrats! Glad you like the new mod.

I'm thinking of doing these myself. Did you get them stainless or ceramic?

I purchased the stainless JBA shorty's from Late Model Restoration, and I had them installed from a buddy of mine (Ford Tech) for a good price.

Can't wait for the sound clips! I've thought about getting JBA shorty headers. I also have boomtubes but with an o/r prochamber.

Has anyone installed these themselves and how hard was the install?

I installed jba ceramic shorties from late model restoration for $440 shipped a couple of weeks ago. I did the install myself on jack stands. It isn't very hard, just time consuming. I had the exact same results. More power, better sound, and 2-3 mpg increase. Here is a sound clip of my car after the jbas.
