Ever since they replaced the throw-out bearing....mine has a sound like ball-bearings being churned and it has ANNOYED the crap. Ford refuses to correct it saying its normal, but loauder than most. I call "BULLSHYTE"

mine has another 10k on it since the change. I have a feeling they would fix it if it was not still under the extended warranty. Since it is...it's just higher than normal noise..but still within acceptable levels

I'm sure the tranny's the same...
I think the difference is in the shifter.

I sure wouldn't make a buying decision on a particulat car, based on a shifter issue, knowing that the aftermarket industry has that covered very well.

[quote]U aren't really comparing apples to apples here with a Mustang GT to a Vette. We all know the GT500 has a much better shifter than the GT so you would need to compare the Vette to a GT500 to be fair [quote]

I was refering to when Thunderhorse quoted motortrend saying it was the "best steering in an American car...ever" and it was about steering feel not shifter feel.

And I agree with pascal, dont dismiss a car because of stock shifter feel, most cars stock have a crappy feeling shifter because they are trying to get rid of NVH to please the average driver. I have replaced the stock shifter with an aftermarket in every car i have owned and it has always been a good decision.

This problem was always there in my tranny..just worsened when Ford replaced the throw-out bearing. my car isn't shifter feel issue..it sounds like I have ball-bearings rolling around in it. When it is hot..it's much worse than when cold.

I am going tomorrow to drive the 5-speed and the auto before making my final decision on which tranny..... but here is what I am looking at....... Stripes are obviously NOT factory but I have those covered already thru the dealer with their guy. unless I can talk Pascal into painting them for me.....

Also getting Glassback roof

Car looks really good man. That new hood bulge is sick as hell. ya my throwout bearing in my 3650 sounds like crap too, I think they all do, but I dont think it necessarily does any damage just sounds bad. Mine has made the noise since I got it but it hasn't blown up yet. I'm not transmission specialist though, thats just what I've read and mine hasn't caused any problems.

Mine has gotten worse....since Ford fixed it!!! in addition..right after i got it back, the clutch engagement was about a 1/2 inch off the floor. I was told it would adjust itself..it has..now it's about an inch of the top and sounds like a cement mixer. And I paid for the additional "better upgraded parts" the dealer recommended that were not covered in the ESP

This is the car basically with Glassback roof... car will have NAV as well. I have to order mine to get all the options. The NAV is the big item that will cause me to have to order it.

headed to dealer soon to drive 5-speed and an automatic to make final decision..
