was riding in my 66 mustang back in h/s. girl in the passenger seat turned to me and asked, "Chris, is your car French?"
me and my friend in the backseat just started dieing laughing. After I stopped I told her, "no hun, its not. You cant get much more of an American car than this"
in her defense, she was an exchange student from switzerland, saw the emblem on the dash, and though the vertical red/white/blue badge behind the horse was the french flag, hah

You all should take these stories and see opportunities!! Opportunities to educate these poor folks! (ok, mostly poor women.....)
I'm certain I was just as uninformed "back in the day". I am still not an "extraordinaire" by any means, but I try to understand the cars!
