tweaking the SCT
Hey guys, i have the JLT 3 with sct from brenspeed and have the custom 93 tune from them right now. my question is , when i go to load the tune it asks if i want to adjust the options. i was wondering what i could play around with in there to tweak it to make it that much better... if anything
thanks

Unless you're well versed in fuel mapping and other parameters, I'd leave Brenspeeds tunes well enough alone. Otherwise, feel free to adjust your gear ratio setting, your tire RPM's, cooling fan temperature settings, rev limit, etc. to your hearts' content.

One neat thing is if you get some pinging in certain RPM ranges, you can pull a little timing yourself instead of having to wait for Brenspeed to send you a new tune.
I pulled 2 deg on my bama 93 torque tune from 4000 to 8000 and I don't have any more pinging from 4K on up like I used to (in warm/hot weather at least). I need to do the same on my Race tune since it pings at 4K and up in hot weather.

ok, thanks for the reply...(s) when i bring the car to a dyno within the next couple weeks, would they create a tune on a different program then transfer onto the tuner ? He said he can work with the SCT. or would he just change those settings in there ?

I believe they'll create the tune on the computer, download it to your SCT, download the tune to the PCM, and do a pull on the dyno (please correct me if I'm wrong - never been on a dyno). Then they'll fine tune the tune and in the end you'll have the custom tune saved on your tuner. Therefore, you can revert back to stock if necessary and then reload the custom tune as you desire.
