Default Exhaust 101

Bear with me.

Have a GT w/ cai and tune and next would like to do something with exhaust.

- more rumble that std GT exhaust but nothing that will pi$$ off the neighbors. something on the more low-key side.

- bigger tips that fill out the cutouts better.

- more hp certainly wouldn't hurt.

- nothing high maintenance, needs to pass inspection, etc.

- won't be doing the work myself.

- under $800 installed.

where do i begin? have a very basic understanding of the various options; axle back, cat back, etc.

thanks.

Well you have two options.

1. Get an axleback exhaust which will change the way the exhaust sounds a lot, but not give you any power and have it installed at a shop. I run Corsa's which are more quiet than stock at idle, but at WOT, they scream. I would either buy them or Borla stingers.

2. Get short tube headers installed. They will give you more power than the axlebacks, but not as much sound change. If going with shorty headers, go with BBK's or JBAs.

Do not get SLP Loud Mouths. Neighbors won't be happy.
