without much haggling at all I got the dealer down to $26,000 out the door for my brand new 2009 GT premium. that's basically paying $23,500 for the car plus tax, tag, title. that's if you have cash or finance with an APR. I choose to take the 0% financing offer which adds $3,500 to the cost of the car but you save money in the long run. the rebate is only if you don't take the 0% financing offer. basically it's bait and switch but it works out in your favor, unless you have cash or don't finance through Ford, then you can get the car cheap.
if the dealer has been sitting on the car for a while they'll be more likely to give you a good deal. if they have a lot of cars on the lot they'll be even more likely to make a deal. the dealer I was at had the exact color / option combo I wanted so I wanted to haggle a little more but I didn't want to miss out on the car I wanted.

....after my "experience" with dealers(blue oval or "Crackin' Fordz in the ghetto) I've found that **a lot** of these salesmen/managers will lie, steal, and cheat to get a extra buck in their pocket 
It is really sad as to how low people can get....But I'm not gonna get started on that....I agree with ya. 08's ARE out there, but every single day they are getting harder and harder to find. Mine was the last 08' in one of the top roush dealers of 2008(A LOT of Roush mustangs and reg. GT's on the lot)....they had a Roush P-51 just sitting out next to my car when I got the keys to take her home....(oops, accidently took the wrong car home
) So that might have been a factor in getting such a deal...Glad you got a good deal on your 09
I have noticed that the prices of the 05-09's have been going up again. I took the rebate.....But I love how they "play" with the numbers like, "hey Mr. Bean, lets see if we can get those monthly payments down to your range".....lol...Mk dumba$$ salesman, that still doesn't change the amount of money that comes out of my pocket; if anything it cost more...Kids these days ok, done ranting lol
