Disabling car intentionally
I will be going out of town for a few weeks very shortly. I want to make it more difficult to steal my mustang (how ever unlikely it could be) while I am gone.
I really dont want to pull the battery since I have a tune loaded, but if I chose that route, what will it entail me to do when I return besides reinstalling the battery (would I have to reflash my tune as well and if so, how do i do that if it is already loaded out of the programmer into the car, or do I first need to flash the stock tune back in before going this route)?
It will be in my garage but I am always of the attitude that if someone can get access to it somehow, I want it to be even more difficult on them to be able to take it. My house has an alarm on it, but I'd guess I'm like alot of others who didnt extend the system out into the garage. Since I haven't ever pulled the original spark plugs I don't want to go that route either and chance breaking one off.
Any suggestions? I realize it would likely be overkill, but if there is something someone might suggest, I'd certainly be interested.

Do what I did when I went away to college, pull the fuel pump relay and take it with you.
look it up on your manual, I cant remember which one is it, but it's a 1 minute job.

Just pulled it yesterday (yeah, that's what she said) to replace the fuel filter, so it's fresh in my mind. It's in the underhood fuse box. The gray relay in the middle toward the back (The side facing the firewall). It's 21 in the manual. That'll get the job done.

Angry much?
The relay will do wonders. Just pull your wheels off and put it up on jack stands!

Thanks for the comments. The fuel relay did pop into my mind after I typed that, so that may end up being what I do.
Like pascal said...it wont stop anyone from towing it, but I would hope any one of my neighbors would make a call to the police if they saw a tow truck pull up and attempt to hook up to my car.
That being said...I gotta admit...I might pull the front wheels too :P.
Thanks for the suggestions. I do need to set up a 'deadman switch' one of these days. I've always ment to do it and just never have yet.

To tell you the truth, having the car in a garage with an alarm system in the house, will deter the common thief.
If you had a Ferrari or equivalent exotic, you'd be more at risk but in your case, it would be a lot of trouble for a Mustang (please, don't take offense).
For regular anti-theft, a kill switch helps a lot...
