Talking in case you're wondering what the car sounds like with no mufflers

last night me and my buddies got bored so we took the mufflers off my GT. I honestly expected it to be crazy loud so I only took off one muffler first, figured if it was insanely loud at that point I would just put it back on. it wasn't that bad so I took the other one off too. actually inside the car driving it's only a little louder than stock at low rpms, like under 1500. cruising it's not much louder till you get on the gas and even then it's not crazy. I'm guessing since the rest of my exhaust is stock the four cats are keeping things from being annoying

here's a video...

I think it sounds good, it has a natural sound to it if that makes sense.

4 Cats? Our mustangs only have 2. I also experimented with no mufflers. Took it for a quick 5 min drive. Sounded good, but the over the axle pipes kept banging the axle when I drove it. I thought I was going to get pulled over at one point. I had a cop in a Dodge Challenger cop car behind me at a stop light; nonetheless, he just went by me as I turned into my condo complex.

We tried it out here in SOCAL. Bit too loud and in the short time, got a lot of dirty looks and couple were from cops who were not too in the mood to stop us, thankfully.

oh ok, though the S197 had 4 cats like the 04's did. yeah the over the axle pipe on one side hits on bumps. I think I'm gonna make something to support it until I feel like putting the exhaust back on.

down here in south florida cops don't really care too much unless it's REALLY loud or they think you're up to something and just want to harass you.

I think I know what you mean. to me it's like the stock sound just louder.

I tried this once with mine. At low RPM's it sounded like a dump truck but when it got into the higher RPM's it sounded good.
