Hood scoop Question??
actually 2 questions, I will be installing a factory style scoop (the one with out the bolts) which is attached with 3m tape. is the tape strong enough or should I put a couple of stainless srews in also?
second question, I also will be installing a Mach 1 vinyl stripe. should I cut the stripe out where the scoop meets the hood or attach it right on top of the stripe?

sometimes it looks good when the stripe goes under the scoop, see if somebody could photoshop for ya. it should be fine with just the tape, alot of louvers are put on with just 3m tape, but scoops are a little bigger, but im sure it should be fine, the one thing thats good, is if it ever did fly off, the ford company has to replace it, as long as you have a ford dealer install it and u use the tape ford gives you, then its there responsability if it flys off or not

If you go the screwless route, which I dont recommend, use
3M 4298 adhesion promoter to insure a strong bond and
get the most insurance you can for when it does fly off.
Sometimes the vinyl will bunch under the hood scoop
with a change in temps and the aluminum hood and
plastic hoodscoop expand and contract at different
rates in direct sunlight.
Cut em just short of the scoop for a bunchless future.
