Default Front popping

I think I may have solved my problem. I've posted before but I have so far replaced my lower control arms, strut mounts, and endlinks and still had the noise. I reread the TSP and noticed that it said to install a coil spring insulator, so naturally, I called ford and bought one from them. They had it in stock for once and was 12.12 + tax. Just installed them today and I think I may have fixed my noise. I may have heard the noise but it was muffled greatly. I felt it more than anything and I can easily live with that.

Anyway, just wanted to pass on my experience. Has anyone else experienced this before or tried the spring insulators? From what I read the newer models may have them install already.

i still have stock struts and springs and have never swap them out. If you read the TSP, I believe some of the early years didn't actually come with them.

The 2005 stang was missing all sorts of needed goodies.
It was the guinea pig of sorts. They got most of the
kinks out by 07 except the warter leak and chuckle.
I would avoid the 05 model years like the plague.
They are prone to all sorts of shortfalls.

Dont throw that onto me.
Its a well known fact so wake up and smell the coffee.
75% of the TSBs are for the 05 year model only.

I will
be sure to
avoid
157db's
ad-
vice
like the
plague
in the
future.

OP - you know what's weird, I could have sworn when I lowered my car that it had spring insulators on the springs. I could be wrong.

Regardless, I too had the thunking noise. When I lowered the car it was at it's worse, so I bought some GT500 upper-strut mounts for ~$60. That was the fix. Car's been quite since. I've had them for a year, or about 12K miles.
