I am FOR SURE doing a tune/CAI package deal.. My car is a 5 speed. I think I can install the intake my self as well as a tuner, I've done both on my 05 F-150 so this cant be much more involved...

So any intake I get, theyre all basically the same? Now as far as the tunes go, is it better to do the pakage deal or should i buy a tuner and have a local guy do some dyno tunes($450 for tuner and dyno time/tunes) i guess I'm asking if thats worth the money?

thanks for all the help fellas I really like this site alot!!!

SIDE NOTE: I just called brenspeed and asked which tuner/intake packages produces the most power of them all and he said the C&L racer w/ SCT X3 tuner... It has about 5HP more than the next one from it...

SO I think this is the one im going to go with.... $600 for tuner/intake is pretty good... i believe i paid that much just for the edge tuner in my F-150.... and another $300 for the intake for it...

There are some differences between CAI's that a tune cannot make up for. For example, the Bullitt Intake which is FRPP makes between 5-7rwhp LESS than any other CAI on the market. This is from Doug himself at Bama chips. That's why he doesn't offer it.

Most of the CAI's that require a tune are equivalent in performance. The "best" is the one you decide to buy; best suits your eyes and wallet.

The CAI is roughly 20% of the power adder of the CAI & tune combo. Expect to see anywhere from 15-25 RWHP or more increase.
