Default Cold Air Intakes

So Who makes the best one? I have an 05 mustang GT just did the exhaust today flowmaster origional 40 series w/ mid X pipe... Sounds great!!!! Any how now it exhales better it needs to inhale better.... So I'm looking for the best CAI out for the S197's... Also does the steeda rally make 38hp just with an intake?? Seems kinda high...

JLT and the C&L Racer are the two best intakes on the market; the JLT is usually found a lot cheaper, and make sure you get a tuner as well because that is where the majority of the power comes from. Bamachips has great tunes for automatic transmission and I've read a whole lot of how good Brenspeed is with the manual transmission tunes.

Well Legend, in my opinion I don't think there is any "ONE BEST" CAI on the market for our cars. I happen to prefer my Polished C&L Street CAI knowing that there are about 4 or 5 very good ones to choose from ..i.e. C&L, Steeda, Airaid, JLT, etc. etc. From these, it all really boils down to personal preference re: cost , looks, style..!! And no, the Steeda will in no way give you 38 hp more with just the intake..!!! If memory serves me correctly, they advertise the 38 additional Hp with their CAI and Tuner. And, I think even this is a little high..!!

It's all about the tune. The CAI doesn't really make much of a difference

Here's another good read with some comparisons:

This is the one I have, got it used off of another forum member. It doesn't require a tune, but I do have one:

Good Luck...

its not so much the intake... all are relativly the same. when you buy the intake you HAVE to buy a tuner package http://www.brenspeed.com/3000steeda.html here is an example. steeda is more expensive than others but it comes down to what color you like haha thats how i decided. choose a good tuner either brenspeed, bamachips, or tillman speed. you notice a nice increase in power with the package. worth every penny

Id go with the JLT II. Best price and works great and you can get the tube in your car color if you choose. Get it as a package from Bama and you wont regret the feel you get.
