Default Wheel Offset

I've seen conflicting claims on which offset is needed for certain wheels to fit.

For example, at CruizinConcepts, they list a 18x9 wheel with a 30mm offset as being suitable for a 2010. However, I've seen other sites that list 50mm offset as being suitable (although that may have been on an 8.5" wheel).

EDIT: Also, would a 255/45 tire be more ideal than a 245/40 tire? How about a 245/45 tire?

Thanks for any clarification!

EDIT2: Well, i got antsy and placed an order for some 18x9 wheels with a 30mm offset and some 245/45 tires. Hope it all works out!
