They won't cover it. I had a similiar mark (but nearly as bad!) and they said normal wear and tear because something on my pants must rub when I get in and out. I went as far as to send letters to Ford. They (Ford Corp) called me and offered to cover 1/2 of the cost to replace that panel of the seat (the dealer wanted like $700). I told them what they could do with their money. I'd rather just buy an aftermarket leather kit than give my money to Ford. I also told my servicing dealer that they are going to lose a customer for life if they don't cover it. They obviously didn't care that they are going to lose a customer over $700.

Wow....Mine wasn't near as bad as that! Mine was in the same area and a little more wide spread area but not near as bad as that and my dealer didn't give me the first hassle about it.

I'm with you all.....they better cover it...pun intended haha

Good luck....let us know

It looks like where the rivets in your jean's back pocket rubs the area every time you get in and out of the car. You can try taking it back to your dealer, you may get lucky and they replace it.
I don't understand why Ford didn't put a thicker better quality leather in for seats. The worst part is our leather seats is just that....only the part where you sit your butt in is actually leather. The rest is pleather or plastic vinyl made to look like leather.

Well just got back from the dealer. Normal wear and tear. But they said they have a lady who can redye it and make it like new. I will have to pay though. Maybe I'll look into some seat covers. Any suggestions.

WOW. that did look really bad. sorry ford pulled their usual answer to everything.
good luck in your decision on the seat covers or getting them redone. i agree that the pleather ford used for our seats is the worst part of our cars. im thinking about letting my best friend, who customizes interiors, redo my seats in real leather for the whole seat.

I have had problems with my leather too.

Problem for me is that when I clean/condition my red seats, after I have RED coloring on my cloth that I used to clean it.
Some of the seat is also faded from this.

Would the dealer cover it? HELL NO.
So I am going to have to pretty much use spray conditioner/cleaner and NOT WIPE the residue off if I want to put anything on my seats.
Any wiping at all with cleaner/conditioner has resulted in the same thing happening, with multiple brands tried.
