There are about 2 dozen+ threads on this.

Try the usual fixes mentioned.

You also might pay attention to what kind of nozzle the gas station uses. Here (CA) they seem to replace them with different styles all the time. The latest ones were supposed to trap gas fumes better, but that would only make this issue with my 2005 GT worse. Turning the nozzle wouldn't work as the new design made it to wide and it would shut itself off.

It would be nice if people could post photos of the good and bad nozzles. The old style, like the kind they had in Nevada and Arizona seemed to work a lot better.

ALL gas pumps do it on my car?? Dealership replaced the COMPLETE evap system today. STILL does the same crap???? The 08 has a totally different design filler neck and tank from 05-07 also. Filler goes thru the frame..not under it. Actually seems worse? Also....turning the nozzle upside down does NOT help /seems worse?

Tried all of that/even upside down.

i have an 05 and had this problem too. went to the dealer, gave them the tsb number (they also questioned me how i knew about the tsbs too ... you'd think they'd know the internet is a vast and wonderful resource), they replaced the fuel tank, and now everything is working fine.

anyway, i attached the tsb for the 05 models, but the 'tsb 06-3-13' number hotdogn mentioned is an updated version of the 05 one. good luck
Thanks but the 08 has a different gastank/filler neck setup.

+1 upside down has never failed for me

Its a procedure and if you dont follow
one step correctly its dribble time for you.
Nozzle in filler but not too far.
Hold nozzle at the 5 o clock position.
Start slowly to get the flow going and
then full bore until its full.

If that dont work, try a few of these....
Stand on head and pray to the Ford gods.
Bad mouth Ford every chance you get.
Go flip off salesman and service manager.
Write your congressman and Ford directly.
Hold breath until you get a response.
Hope you dont die first.
Replace the 1" rollercoaster molded downtube with a bigger one.
Replace the EVAP canister vent filter.
Pretend to buy new Ford and vent to them about the situation.
DEMAND to see every TSB concerning you vehicle.

I didn't feel like reading all the responses, but my '05 does it occasionally. Sometimes, on the same pump, but different weeks, it will work or not work. Flipping it upside down works everytime. I get get weird looks, but it doesn't take me 15 minutes to fill up.

In three years mine has done it only about 3 or 4 times. When it does I rotate the nozzle 90 degrees or more to the right and all is well.
