Default jba lt headers= blown starter

has anyone with lt headers, mine are jba's, had starter issues. the problem being it won't turn, without the help of a tap on the solenoid. has anyone used a heat shield around the starter, had this problem, or know of a solution?
thanks

I have jba LTs and have not problems. if you have to tap the solenoid it sounds like bad wiring? check all the connections and grounds
