If ya had the money........
So my wife bought me my car for our wedding, so I dont think I could get rid of it. But if money was not a problem, say you came into a lot of money , not like retire early money, but a good junk of change, would you simply hassle the wife and trade it in for something, or keep it and build it up? Mind you I would still get a 2005+ mustang, and mines a 2009. What would you do? Drop in a huge motor? Amazing suspension setup? Better quality interior? Or just bite bullte with the wife and be sleeping on the couch, but with a race tuned supersnake in the drive way? Just a question, everyones opinions count!

Coming into money is one thing. Being given a gift, a modest gift if that, by the wife is a nice thing to have. Most guys would kill for a wife that thinks of a car as a gift. Now if this is something that you respect, then here is my opinion and alternative.
1. People who have money, have it because they dont make stupid decisions. Trading in an 09 for a new vehicle is a bad choice. No matter how much money you have. Its a loss.
2. You can probably do more mods to your car and still spend less than your NEW car plus the loss of vaule on the trade. = More money for other things
3. Respecting the wife, and doing mods will not only say thank you, but look at what I did to the gift you gave me. = Good $ex
4. Coming into money is one thing, coming into stupid money is another. Either way if you make an informed decision to upgrade and not lose money two times, then you have created some Value and not gone in the negative.
5. Ive been reading that you can do Mods for around 10k and still be cheaper than a GT500. Not sure if this is a true fact, but from what Im seeing, its cheaper to upgrade a GT than finance 45,000 with interest.
6. Manage money you didnt have yesterday like it was never yours to begin with, and you will go along way. Cant go back and correct a bad decision financially. Once its gone, its gone.
7. You just didnt win 88million yesterday did you? LMAO

Modding the car you have makes it unique. Take the opportunity to make the car yours. There will always be a faster more powerful car, always. But you can mod the car you have to be something special that no one else has.

Depending on how much I ran into I would buy something she really likes for her. Than keep what you have (As long as you like what you have) and build it up. ANYTHING can be made fast. Somethings just take more money to do it. With the money your going to get for your 09 you could probably drop a 5.4 aluminum motor and supercharge it cheaper than trading yours in and getting a cobra.

Well, if you had the money. Switch out the stock engine for the Cammer 5.0 sold on Ford Racing's website...

$25,000 for a full racing engine (approx. 250 lbs lighter than the iron block 5.4 supercharged engine).

I have the money, but couldn't bear to take the depreciation loss on one of these. I almost bought one, then I heard that this car will likely lose 60 grand in just five years of ownership. YIKES
