I was referring to the OP's situation, but thanks for qualifying that.

All good things here.. In my situation, I have installed the Pypes catted x-pipe with flowmasters, and yes, I have the check engine light on always. I just ordered the JLT intake with the brenspeed tune. I live in NY, think I will pass inspection without doing removing anything or adjusting the tune? Thanks guys!

OK, I put the stock intake back on, put the stock tune in and drove for 70 miles today, took it back to my mechanic and he hooked it up to his handheld diagnostic machine and he said all the sensors were reset except some sensor that has something to do with the fuel? He said to put about $20.00 of gas in the tank and drive it for the next couple of days, he told me this particular sensor checks every 8 hours, so it might take a few days to reset? I don't know, it dosen't sound right, but I hate to keep going back there and having him check it. So far with the stock tune and the stock intake no check engine light, I guess I will have to wait until monday. I miss my intake and tune already.

Yep, that's the worst part. Fortunately, it's only temporary.

Without cats, your car will not pass inspection at all, because all technicians have to do a "visual" inspection... if you have someone that will see past the visual part and you dont have cats, all you need to do is have your rear o2 sensors turned off, and have all the monitors be set. ( this means if you have no cats and you have recently had a check engine light, you will not pass until you drive it about 30-50 miles to reset the monitors)

In your case, you do have cats, but they are high flow...this is where it gets tricky.. Since you have a brenspeed tune coming, and you need to pass inspection, you need to tell them to leave your rear o2 sensors turned ON and you need to purchase the o2 sensor raiser, non fouler's
located here http://www.brenspeed.com/730-2442.html

This is to the best of my knowledge, I just installed the pypes off road H, i have the JLT with 93 from brenspeed, i drove about 50 miles after the install and i got a CEL, pulled codes for the cats (p0420 and p0430) I have a new tune on the way. Once i get this tune installed, I will drive the car for a while to reset the monitors and then I will take the car in for a NY state inspection at the shop I work at, I will let everyone know the results with a tech that will see past the "visual" part of the inspection.

Hope this helps everybody.
