I just looked at my Window Sticker and it states Shaker 500 and Electronics package (Nav).

The system is awesome by the way. Trying not to crash and play at the same time

All the shaker 500s and 1000s have this noise including my 07 and 09.

I have a feeling this is a different problem otherwise why would it have been fixed so quickly with the new model '10s?

Your noise is exactly what we have described above? You can hear AM/FM leaking through on other inputs? You can VERY clearly hear the noise when sitting upright in the drivers seat? The noise volume doesn't change when you raise the radio volume?

Is this issue exclusive to '10s?

I’m talking about what the OP said, “low volume continuous static like noise that comes from the system”. Noticeable with the volume off or when there is no sound being played or broadcasted. My 07 and 09 has the problem as well as other Mustangs I checked at the dealer.

The headunit issue has been fixed in the Job2 and later 2010 Mustangs.

Is there a way to verify whether you have the Job 2? I only saw a way to (perhaps) verify that you had a Job 1? Did anyone with a Job 2 run that process and verify that the code is different?

If you can check out the window sticker (stock vehicle) or 'print' your window sticker (ordered vehicle), it should be on that.
