Thanks for all the responses guys!! Im not even sure that the deal will go through, so i don't wanna get all kinda thoughts. The thing that really had got me interested was the price, but i haven't priced in any supporting mods. Not sure if this or a blower on my motor would be a good idea . I just wanna go fast !!! I rode in my friends moms' GT500 and i felt really slow when i got back in my car lol. That snake has a meaaan bite. I really wanna get some good power and wiplash from the pull.

just get a blower...get a 8-9 psi pulley combo...get good tunes

you will easily have 400+ RWHP and the car will be freaky fun to drive. You'd be out the door for alot less, and not any of the pains of a motor swap

Thanks for all the input guys. I do have a manual and a gt500KR hood that gi es me ~3 inch clearance over stock. After reviewing the deal and components over, I am not sure if it will be a good idea. I think for the $ , downtime, and possible headaches, it might be better to just save for a blower for my 4.6 3v , or look for a 5.4 3v or 4v. Are the lightening motors really underrated? It seems like a 5.4 with a blower and forged internals should be pumping out a little more than 380, specially since we make 300 stock in our 4.6.

dont forget though, 4.6 3v is 300 hp and 320 lb ft torque. the lightning is 380 hp and 450 lb ft torque. that torque really makes the difference. and i know people are going to call hooey on what im saying, numbers are numbers, got that. but i swear up and down that my lightning is faster than any of my stock or slightly modded stangs i have owned or drove. i know numbers and car and driver and motor trend say stang is faster

They have lightnings that go in the 10s in the Orlando area
Lol, maybe that 5.4 has some to do with it...

you are 100% correct. Cars are generally quicker in 1/4 mile overall...but not in all the other aspects.

HP is nice...but TQ is what makes the world go around.

my 5.4 3v that was RoushCharged was only a measly 412 HP...but it had damn near 500 TQ.
I could lay the smack down on Mustangs/Camaro/SRT-8 without any issue at all from a stop or slight roll.

if from a roll, I usually had traction problems until about 25 mph. My tires just burned rubber until the shift into 2nd lowered the RPM enough to hook up
they quickly handed me my butt at higher speeds...but from 0-40 mph my truck ruled the roost against stock Muscle cars.

not bad for a 6,000 lb monster. The 5.4 has so much more TQ that it isn't funny.
