My installer told me the car has a slight vibration at 70mph after the 4.10 install. He told Mishri the same thing. I haven't noticed it yet but Mishri has felt it. In any case, we were told by the installer that an aftermarket driveshaft (AL) would take care of it. Another user here, Kolb02, had the same installer and issue and once he put his dynatech driveshaft in the problem disappeared.

sounds like the pinion angle with the draft shaft might be off a bit even though technically it shouldnt have changed. I have had the same type of problem with my 1 piece in the past.

so matt, your problem showed up AFTER the driveshaft install? I would replace my driveshaft with a one piece if i knew it would get rid of the noise. I have heard a lot of horror stories on this forum about vibrations after driveshaft installs and the last thing i want to do is make it worse.

Well it took some tweaking to get the pinion right after the DS install. It was only showing up at around 70 mph and again at 125...then again, at 125 its anything small is more noticeable lol

What were you tweaking? Did you have adjustable control arms?

I hear ya. I'm so pissed about my 3.31 to 3.73 gear install, if I ever dreamed it would be such a nightmare as it wound up being, I never would have done it. 2 installers, and two gearsets later, same damn howling noise. The second time I took it to a Ford dealer, an FRPP rep, SVT/Motorsports certified dealer. They swea upside down and sideways they did it right, 100% textbook, and they're baffled as to why I still get the howl (whine, butit sounds more like a howling) at 60 to 40mph on coast. I am going to go toa third installer, and hopefor the best. The majority of peoplesay that there should be no noise at all, its a bad install, period. I've also heard other say with the S197's sometimeseven on a correctistall, theres sometimes a noise. I wish I never did it, the jump in gear ratio is barely worth it, and I'm over a grand in the hole, and my problem is not solved yet.

Sorry to hijack, just needed to vent! But your thread is he reason why I'd never get a 1 pc DS, in fact, I'm done with mods, DONE!
