hey i lost my key fog for my car and bought a new one off of eBay and want to know how to reprogram it to my car and i don't have the owners manual 2007 mustang gt 5sp thanks

How to reprogram your remote entry transmitters
You must have all remote entry transmitters (maximum of six) available before beginning this procedure.
Note: Ensure the brake pedal is not depressed during this sequence.

To reprogram the remote entry transmitters:

1. Ensure the vehicle is electronically unlocked.

2. Put the key in the ignition.

3. Cycle eight times rapidly (within 10 seconds) between the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position and 3 (ON).
Note: the eighth turn must end in the 3 (ON) position. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming mode has been activated.

4. Within 20 seconds press any button on the remote entry transmitter.
Note: If more than 20 seconds have passed, you will need to start the procedure over again. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that this remote entry transmitter has been programmed.

5. Repeat Step 4 to program each additional remote entry transmitter.

6. Turn the ignition to the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position after you have finished programming all of the remote entry transmitters. Note: After 20 seconds, you will automatically exit the programming mode. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming mode has been exited.

So does this work if you only have one key and fob available? I can't find my other set of keys and have been wondering if I could buy a new key and fob and program that one to my old key that I still have.

You need two programmed keys to program a third key. You only need one key to program fobs.

Does the first method work for older cars too, aka. a 1996, or just for the newer ones? I have gotten another car, and the original fobs weren't given to me, so I bought some off of ebay, and now i need to reprogram them. If the first method doesn't work, what is the correct method. Thanks for you help in advance.

WOW! I had no clue this was possible. I lost my ONLY key fob a month or so ago and I have been having to go without for so long. I had a key set to an old ford I had and was I amazed when this worked.

Now here is the question, do all my old fobs still work or do I have to reprogram them to the new setting? I ask because I don't like the idea of someone out there running around with a keyfob to my car :|
