Default Anybody broken spark plugs on engines 2008 & after?

I know earlier models have had broken plugs. Does anyone know if their plugs have been broken while replacing either by themselves, dealer or local shop?

I have pulled my plugs out before. Didn't have a problem at all. Just make sure you get your engine warm first. I guess some people had the problem because ford either didnt put on anti seize or the 2 piece plug failed and split at the crimp.

I would try it myself and see if you can do it. Plugs for our cars are mighty expensive though.

Also I thought they went with the new plugs for the 08+?

GoldenPony has broke one off. Then the dealer broke off another 5 and tried sticking him with the bill.

Doesn't GoldenPony have a 2006? My engine was built December 2007 so I guess I'm in the danger zone.

Mine looked like they were still two piece with a crimp, but I folowed the TSB. However I noticed after I cracked them loose, they turned out by hand. Only 4k miles though on car when I put the S/C on and had to swap plugs.

They changed the cylinder head sometime in 08.

You need to see if your car was built before the change or after. Check with Ford.

Dumb question, but this was just on the V8s, yes?

My car was built in December 2007. I read somewhere that the new heads were installed with different coils. The new coils had BROWN plug boots instead of black. They also said the brown boot was the new plug/head design to eliminate the two piece plug breaking issues.

I just looked tonight and I have the brown plug boots. Is the information I read accurate?

I've replaced the plugs in my '09 heads, with no issues at all. But to be fair, they were only in there for 500 miles. The stock ones were in there for 8k miles and removed with no issues. Heads were cold, too.
I used the NGK-equivalent of the 1-heat range colder FRPP plug, NGK 7554, ZNAR7AIX.
