Put about a Grand of bolt ons in that Shelby though, and it's all over for even a boosted GT.
Depends on the boosted GT. For a grand you can get brenspeeds package that adds 100hp to the crank. That's great but a boosted GT with 450-500whp is going to beat that car.

I don't want to get into a war here...
TJ will know better than I do.
I think some members have done it (OK maybe with $1500) and they get a little shy of 600whp.
That's bye bye GT, but it's actually the torque that gets you.
Guys, guys, guys! Forget these pathetic high 12's for the GT500. It's a heavy car with a pathetic factory tune. It's a tune, pulley and to a greater extent, blower away from crushing almost any takers. Anyone driving a gt500 in stock form needs to be slapped. A pulley and tune should be mandatory.
Has anyone ever heard of an engine failure with the stock blower on a mildly modified gt500? I just might throw a shot of nitrous at it if I had one.
Gears, CAI/tune, LT headers, CMDP, UDP, and tires.
Mid 12s.
You forgot perfect conditions, sea level track and the luck of the irish. I know anythings possible, but you should know it's not that easy. That's also power shifting every gear with a manual car. I think it would be much easier to do with a auto, consistently.
Plenty of guys out there running 13 flat with those mods.
