NT555Rs at the Track

Next time ask before you buy tires. Those DRs are good for a daily driver but there are much better DR's or racing tires to get.
1. Drive around water box.
2. Dip back tires in box and if you can spin them one time. Do not do a burnout in the water box or you will throw water onto your tire and **** off the track officials.
3. Pull out of box and put it in 2nd gear. Go to 5k rpms and drop the clutch, left foot on brake to hold you there.
4. Burnout until you see smoke. After I see smoke I counted to 5 and then let off the brake and went forward.
Some tires need less, some need more. It depends. You will need to experiment. After each pass take some notes on the time slip so you can remember what you did.

Thanks Simon this is more the tips I was looking for....any ideas about psi or launching rpm? I assuming I just dump the clutch with a DR, right? Also I know the 555Rs arent the best DR BUT they are the most affordable. Yea they might not stand up to your car but I figure they'll probably stand up to 300hp decently and they HAVE TO be better than my nitto street tires

You might need to slip the clutch slightly to keep from bogging.
Stole this link from another site, its a really good read about racing tires.

Personally if you are going to get really serious get some racing rims (like Weld etc..) and DR.
But IMHO if you are looking for 12/11s then just get some good stiky tires on your rims - or maybe some 16" v6 rims with tires. With the stock clutch you shouls see 1.8s on your rims with DRs no problem.
