Okay, the tires are now on the car. Couple things....

1. They look small as hell lol. They're not as wide as I though they'd be(my 285s have almost an inch in width on them)but they fit great on the stock rims. Also they are really short!!!
2. Between the lighter rims/tires and the shorter diameter of them the car does feel noticebly quicker which is nice!

SO: I want to go to the track ASAP does anyone have an idea on psi to go with? For the street I have them at 30psi. I read another thread for M/T to start at 20psi for the track is this right?

I'm looking for starting psi and starting launch rpm for the track. I realize it takes experimenting and practice but I want a good starting point.....ideas??? Thanks a lot!

I have 3 months left and plenty of time to go and I want my 12.999!

you need the "driver" mod....practice as much as you can, each car and set up is different. you have to get out there and see what you can do with yours, launch it as hard as you can until it spins, some people have better luck slipping the clutch out on the launch.you got to get your 60"s down, thats what i would work on, after that its just hangin on and shifting gears. also look at where your last shift is at, i used try and hold out my last gear, thinking that if i shifted it would slow me down. one trip down the track i decided to go ahead and shift into fourth gear and my times jumped quit a bit. you have to try different things, dont keep doing the same thing over and over, once you figure something out to get you better times, then you practice it more and more. im still working on my own "driver mod", it needs alot of work.

I can't help you on the launch RPM since I drive an auto. +1 on practice practice and more practice. Each track is different, and the same track could be different each time you go depending on track prep. I have the nittos also, I have about 14 1/2
PSI in mine. I have tried a bunch of different PSIs. my best 60 ft is a 1.87. can't seem to get it down. Have noticed the burn out helps me more than anything. If you can't leave the line, your 60ft will suffer. My best 1/4 mile is 12.76. I have a few more mods I want to do. want to be able to run atleast the 12.0 class.

I launched the exact same on street tires vs nitto 555r's.

1.94 best on 555r's vs. 2.01 best on stock tires, with average in the 2.0x range for both :dunno:

My Hoosier DOT drag radials got me consistent 1.7x's though! They are very comparable to MT's
