sound like the conditions were not very good either... 90s and 1500 elevation = poor da.

What track was it and what time of day did you run?

also post your slips that will help

but your 60s need to improve

I'm the Track Manager here in Guam.

3rd Yellow, launch. The time it takes your brain to transmit the light to the foot is about .3 of a second. Keep practicing it and you will get better:
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/nhraxtreesp.html

The time starts as soon as you break the Pre/Staged light. Some people will adjust their staging...some will bypass the prestage, and go to the stage...this will cut down on reaction time, but will increase your probability of a red light. Staging only at the prestage (if allowed), will decrease your reaction time, but cut down on ET/increase your MPH. HOW you are allowed to stage depends on your track policy.

I hope some of this helps you out!

That doesn't help much, so check your linkage.
This was due to the first time jitters. And the pretty high adrenaline rush. Plus, on my trip down here I was having an issue with first and second gear not working at all. I'm pretty sure the linkage is fine, and I just wasn't relaxed. The car was on stands before I left. All bushings were lubed and I checked things that could have come loose since install.

I don't plan on blowing the money on this yet......this was just for fun.

I was at Firebird in Phoenix. It was like 104 that day, and by my last run it was probably still 90 degrees. First run was around 7:30, last probably 10:30ish.

I will try to post some slips tomorrow once I get home.......I have a dreaded 14 hour drive first thing in the morning.

I went to the track my first time about 2 weeks ago and i sucked as well, so dont feel too bad. I was at Gateway in St Louis at midnight madness. Cool weather at night. My best run was a 14.284 @ 100.4mph. 2.360 60ft. Driver mod needed! I was so freaking nervous I just keep doing everything wrong. Including leaving the traction control on! I hope to make it back once more this season so I can take another stab at it and get some good launches in and break 13's. 14's are embarrasing.

Firebird's elevation is 1234 ft according to the track website, based on the time you went the DA was ~4000, not good conditions at all, a 14.15 would approximate a 13.5 at sea level DA.

check the pinon angle before you move the LCAs, if it is -2* to -3* you dont need to adjust it IMHO

Corrected for your elevation you ran a 13.7 or so. Figure in the 90 degrees + humidity, you're probably around 13.4-13.5 which isn't bad for a first go.

Like others have said your times are pretty good for your first time out and for the conditions you were running in. I'm sure with more practice and especially when the temps and humidity are lower you will see better times.
