quick question about 1/4 mile drags...1st time wasn't great

Don't want it too cold... I just got back from Gateway... High 40's, low 50's in temperature. Rained all week. Track was total grease... Actually had to peddle 2nd gear after lighting 'em up...
Best run was a 14.1 @ 100, but there was no way to launch as the track had NO grip. 60' times were 2.3 as I literally had to walk away from the line before punching it...
New LCA's show up Wed to help with wheel hop.

The conversions factors are probably coming from NHRA. They have conversion factors for all of the NHRA sanctioned tracks. Do a Google search and you should be able to find one online (make sure it's the Stock/SuperStock factors and not the index class factors). I took my car out to Great Bend, KS a couple of months ago and ran a 13.96@100.7. The altitude factor put it at a 13.66@102, which doesn't account for the weather. A lot of bracket racers will have weather stations that will get you a Density Altitude reading. If you use the factor for that number then you can get what your car would THEORETICALLY run at 0 altitude and standard conditions. I emphasize theoretically because that assumes your 60' will improve that much, which is not always the case. The weather was really crappy the night I had my car out and the DA was over 3500ft. It equated to something around 13.45@103.
