Now, even though (really awesome) engineers at Ford design what you see on the screen in terms of maps, layouts, and interfaces, the data itself comes from Navteq (well, your location comes from your car's GPSM module, but the mapping data that your GPS data is overlayed on comes from Navteq). You can get updates right from Navteq for your vehicle via http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT...WhDruZdYuNCql?

But it's only for North America. If you were to CALL Navteq, you might be able to get their European maps, but I take no responsibility for whether that works or not. Now, since you mention Volvo BMW can do it, and since Volvo and BMW also gets their integrated-nav map data from Navteq... (picking up what I'm laying down?)

In any case, I hope it's a lead that you find useful.
I tried the link you provided but the NavTeq site does not list the 2010 Mustang....

Yeah, I don't think they've updated their list (either that or the onboard nav has the latest map library and thus has no updates available). We use that company, though.

I've commented on the upgrade a few times now on this forum. I think afoust50 is referring to upgrades done on MY2005-2009 Mustangs. I can't stress enough that the MY2010 system is VERY different. Not saying it's impossible, but you're likely looking at a lot more than $2800 (especially for a proper factory-trained technician install), for a few reasons:

See post #7 in this thread, as well as
https://mustangforums.com/forum/6517239-post30.html
and
https://mustangforums.com/forum/6517280-post31.html

In short, the MY2005-2009 systems were relatively interchangeable, modular, and easy to remove and swap out without changing bezels, modules, displays, and EFPs. The MY2010 systems are a different story.

Hi to FordEngineer,

Need your help on a topic. Do you know how to do this: "How to Upgrade a Mustang Radio to Navigation?" Can an average person do it with the right tools/upgrade kit? I am actually trying to write an article on it ... if you know -- and I'd need to get specs and details -- can you post? I will check this forum and send you my person email if more info is needed. If this is too complex for an average person to do, please let me know ... and I'll disregard the article. Oh, and if you can supply my with info/your title, etc. I would be happy to quote/credit you in the article. I can send you links to clips of other articles I've published recently ... they were published on the website of a major newspaper. If you'd prefer not to be quoted -- but if this can be done by the average person -- can you send me a link to an instruction manual/guide? There must be one that Ford uses. Thanks
