Default TB spacer vs. no Tb spacer

Okay, so I'm looking for a little clarification as far as throttle body spacer goes. I have read around and it seems like everyone says they're a waste of your money. but over on the basic mods for 05-09 gt thread it says

Second - Stock GT w/CAI 263hp
Third - Stock GT w/CAI and TB 269hp
fourth - SCT Tune w/CAI and TB 271hp 280Tq
Fifth - SCT Tune w/CAI Stock TB 272hp 282tq
So does the TB not help somewhat, especially if I'm not planning on tuning? Plus, I've heard you get a little gas mileage boost.(I think I want to go w/ airaid CAI/TB spacer combo here pretty soon, but don't want to spend the money on a tuner)
Any thoughts appreciated

The throttle body itself will help somewhat! But no to the spacer! Indeed a waste

note that your quote is for a new TB not a spacer.
Most people agree a spacer is a waste, but a new TB can net some gains

You are refering to the spacer right?

the only good that comes from a TB spacer is better throttle response (not much). Also makes a cool whine to attract dogs
The stock TB's have worked well to 550-600, unless you have a built short block no real need to spend that money now.

tb spacer = junk

new tb = not worth the money IMO for little to no gains and possible headaches

Also, there is no way in the example above that he went from those mods untuned @ 269 and only gain 2 HP with a tune. The numbers are flawed for various reasons which i would write 5 paragraphs about

I'll try to not say what gullible morons some people are.
Advertising is right up there with lawyers and car salesmen.

TB spacers are useless. Aftermarket TB's on an unmodified (not FI or internally modded heavily) gain little to nothing and have been known to cause more issues that they're worth. The stock TB flows about as well as an unmodified S197 needs.

okay, thanks much for the clarification. I thought it seemed to good to be true for a 100$ bolt on to boost both hp and mpg.

Is the whine to attract dogs worth the money? haha, jk
