That can keep the gauge from reading accurately for a period of time. I don't remember whether it is explained in the Owner's Guide or in the Workshop Manual.

I actually had this same issue, especially after I filled up the tank. The guage wouldn't read correctly. So I asked around and found out that my issue was when I was filling up. I sometimes have the habit of filling up the tank with the ignition still on so I can listen to my music. Well, when I would start the car and pull off, my guage wouldn't read full. Usually stopping at a 1/4 or 1/2 tank......when I new it was full.

Depending on what mode you are in, it can take a time spand of 2 seconds to 55 minutes for the fuel guage to read correctly.

05 had a problem with the cluster see if your other gages are off they updated the gage steeper motors.

I turn the car off and get the keys out with me when I fill up. The fuel gauge actually reads best when I have more gas in the tank.. Once it gets below a half tank, it is very very inconsistent. It will never read more than I have.. and the "low gas light" is still accurate.. It will never say that I have low gas when I don't.. So I will always go by that light to know for sure if I am getting close to empty.. but most of the time, I know by how much gas I put in the car.

I say take it to the Ford dealership and see what they have to say. I am out of ideas/thoughts/suggestions at this point.

Yeah I could do that.. but if they want money, ain't happening because i can live with it. hehe..

One more question... Where is the best place to find Mustang accessories.. Like for the interior of the car. I'd like to get some chrome in there.. I have the flat black everywhere.

Hey man.. The only other gauge I have is the HOT/COLD gauge.. and I noticed today that when the gas gauge doesn't work right.. neither does the hot/cold.

So it sounds like a cluster issue.. is there any kind of fix to this?

MPH and RPM works fine.
