Default Having Tachometer Issues. Can Anyone Help?

I got in my car this morning to drive to class and noticed that my tach was doing something pretty strange. It's treating about 3500 as 0, so when it's idling it reads at about 4250. I can tell by the way my car sounds that it is still idling regularly, the tach is just reading it wrong. Another thing I noticed is that when I shut the car off the needle settles back to 3500, it doesn't go back down to zero.

I have no idea what this is, but it makes driving a manual pretty frustrating. Does anyone have any info or ideas that could help me?

I also tried resetting the tune I have on it, but that didn't work either.

First I would check to see if the pass. kick panel area is wet. It has been know to cause elec problems. If that is ok, you could try to disconnect the battery. It may reset everything.

There's no water anywhere, and I haven't even had it in the rain lately. I guess I'll try the battery. Thanks, I hope it works...
