Why do some Mustangs with the Pony Package have the stripes on the bottom that say "MUSTANG" and other don't? I love how my Mustang with the Pony Package DOESNT say Mustang anywhere on the outside..if you don't know what it is...you know what I mean
I perfer the car without the lettering...I think it looks like an after-thought...what are everyone else's opinions?

It's part of an optional appearance package (Pony Package?). I like the look. It's on my g/f's Pony.

EDIT: I meant to include it was for the V6 only.

On the S197 that was an option on the V6 models. So were the stripes.
Later dealerships installed them on whatever
so its no longer a V6 badge. It is still rare to see
them on GT's though.

the theory is "there are no stupid questions, just stupid people that ask questions," just kidding and on one final note "rite" is right. that is the english lesson for the day and now my head hurts
but to answer the question it is just an apperance option, such as different size rims, 17" or 18", etc

Some V6 owners on here have opted to remove the stripe, but I like mine. Came with the Pony Package as well as some other goodies.

yeah at first i loved my stripe but after i got my rims i wanted to see how it would look and it looks a million times better more aggressive, i like it..

ya its just a V6 option, my sisters premium V6 (no pony package) has the stripe
