I know many folks on here have wrote about it, but I really think most if not all Mustangs are affected by the aluminum body panel corrosion, mainly on the hood.
After seeing it posted on here I decided to take a look. I can see the bubbling starting under the hood as well as a place on front edge that feels rough. You don't really notice it unless you rub your hand across it.
I did take it to the dealer about 2-3 weeks ago and they called me today saying Ford approved for them to fix my hood.
I asked him what all was involved and they said they were going to sand blast it to the bare metal and repaint.
I do hate the thought of them patching or blending some of the top, but I know something has to be done before my warranty runs out.
I strongly advise you all to look under your hood near the front edge and see if you notice anything. It may appear to look like a welded seam but it most likely is the TSB.

Thanks for the heads-up. My Stang is in storage but I'll check it when I take the g/f's Stang to the storage place next week. I'll check hers before we go, too.
I was aware of the TSB but hadn't recalled seeing or feeling anything on the hoods since I go over the bodies with a fine tooth comb including the underside of each hood. I hadn't given it a second thought but I will now.

Here are some pictures of my hood. Like I said, it appears to look like welded places but that is where the body panel is corroding;
Mods sorry for the large pictures. I wanted the members to be able to see.

I just had that taken care of under warranty. I have a Satin Silver '06 since new, and 3 yrs and 30k miles, it started showing up early fall this year (or at least when I first noticed it.) Brought it to the dealer that I bought the car from, they sent it out (they sub out all their body work) got it back, had a bubble in the new paint, had them do it again, and finally it came out perfect!
Mine was alot worse than the pictures above. It was on the front edge of the hood, and underneath the front edge. I first saw it, I was like WTF now!?! Passenger side leak, broken seat back ****, now paint bubbles! Jeez...

Hopefully nothing else happens, my warranty just expired on Veteran's Day 11-11-09

If you look and see it's there, I'm sure it would be waaaay cheaper to just purchase an aftermarket hood. Just start saving your pennies now. By the time it starts to eat through your paint, you should have enough to replace it.
