Thumbs down How do you remove the damn Grille?

While I was deployed my Eleanor Grille came in...and I want to install it now.

But how do you get the damn stock grille off? I don't want to damage the grille just in case I'm not a fan of the new look

help please. seems like it would be easy, but in my head...and clumsy hands, I can easily see a bunch of broken plastic tabs

There are some clips that go into the bumper

you pry them up as you slide the grille away from the bumper

there are quite a few and its a pain to do

i did mine when the bumper was removed, very easy and the flex of the bumper makes it easier to get them out

there are clips on the bottom of the grille also i beleive
use a small flat head with a towell over it so not to damage the bumper

Go here: http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=1

Then dig down to the body section and you'll find the steps for the grill removal. IMO, it STILL will be harder than you'd think.

A bumper is only 6 bolts! Never taken one off while the bumper was on the car, got to be a way

Glad you are back safe and sound and thanks for your service brother. As for the grill, Im a big fan of the bullitt grill but use these instructions to get your grill off. They are the best instructions and what I used in my old look. Just take your time as some of those tabs are a bitch and a friend around will be more than helpful.

This is your best bet.

I figured it out by myself when I had to install my HID fogs into my GT. It's a little bit of a PITA but it's not that hard. Just take your time so you don't break anything. Also no need to remove the whole front bumper, although it will make it easier it will take a little longer. People say the front bumper is only 6 bolts which is true, but it still is time consuming.

I took the bumper off, it is easier than it sounds. Once the bumper is off there is little chance of breaking the clips.
