Test drove '10 Saleen 435-not that impressed
While my '10 GT was in for oil change, I test drove a new '10 Saleen 435. Wasn't all that impressed. My GT has 4.10 gears, 93 tune from Brenspeed and Roush CAI. I could feel some additional torque over my car, however it wasn't alot. Even the salesman who rode with me in the Saleen and then in my car said the same thing. I want to add more H.P. but a new supercharger is going to cost me around $5-$6k which didn't seem worth it. Would a Kenne Bell or Whipple producing 500+- HP feel more kick in the pants than the Saleen? Or should I save a bunch and install nitrous? All I'm looking for is more torque and HP to have fun with (no track time).

just cause the saleen has 435hp.. in manual is about 369 at wheels.. in auto about 310 at wheels.. so the gt with bolt ons well feel better due to more hp and less weight.. these is useing the lose of the drivetrain.. 15% manual 30% auto

the reason it didn't feel like much is because you have the 4.10 gears, and they saleen prob has the stock 3.31 or 3.55. It prob only feels a little more torquey out of the box...but yours is going to peg top MPG way before that one does. Also, that one is going to feel stronger in the higher RPMs, where it'll be receiving it's high HP numbers... At slow speeds and low RPM it is going to feel a whole lot different than yours.
Additionally I'll throw this out there. I don't know about the Saleens, but the GT500s do not make full boost until they have "X" number of miles on them. And it has to be a combination of highways and city miles. So, if Saleen has the same thing going on...then it might not be fully letting loose.
However, if you get a supercharger and go from what you have now to ~500rwhp...night and day. I went from an 07GT with mostly same mods you have to a stock GT500...went from not enough, to too much. After I got used to the GT500, I started uping the power to it. Now I'm used to that and want more...
