Wow, sorry about the damage. That made me cringe. Glad nobody was hurt.

So it looks like it is going to be able to be fixed. I was able to see it up on the frame machine today. Good news there is no frame damage and it looks to be mostly sheet metal damage. The techs are going to look at the rear end and rear suspension to look for any problems there. The preliminary estimate from Geico is $4100 however Ford says the cost is going to be closer to $7k because even the body guys heard some odd noises from the rear end just pulling it into the shop. I will keep you guys posted. So far Geico has not fought me on any of my demands.

They usually total the vehicle if the cost of repairs is greater than 80% of the value of the car before the damage.

Eerily similar to what happened to me exactly 4 years ago this day. My(then) 8 month old 2005 Black GT was rear-ended at 2am during a lane closure on the northbound 5 Fwy just 10 miles south of downtown LA by a novice driver(in a 4X4 no less!). The trunk floor had to be replaced as well as the rear bumper & underlying support bracing, but the deck-lid & rear quarters were basically unscathed. Total was just over $5 grand. I soon traded the '05 in for the '06 I currently own in August of 2006, I never could get over the fact the '05 was hit(even though it was fixed by the Ford dealer I bought it at & it was perfect). Best of luck, maybe it's a "black thing?" lol

Sounds like it must be some sort of curse. I think its because Black looks the best when it's clean.

i would say time for an upgrade but its a cs so... good luck with the repair.
I was rear ended right outside my school and a rainy day and got a nice gt/cs bumper out of it. I wish it would have pushed me a little into the car in front of me so i coulda got the gt500 too
It sucks being without your stang for a while though. And mine only took a week or so
