the premium audio vehicles can use the controls...and i really doubt that ford allocated different harnesses for different setups.. it's probably all the same... i think the issue lies in the head units we have... im hopeful an aftermarket HU (which i planned on from the beginning... hence why i didnt get the prem audio) will work

Did I get it right that, with the factory wiring harness of the base 2010 V6 and GT(plastic steering wheel), only the cruise control buttons light up and function?
Please classify, detailed if possible, if so, I will take off my newly installed 2009 Bullitt and go grab the GT500 one - I will get those other buttons to work with my handmade remote for Pioneer P-90RS, which I need to hide in the wheel..

ok little strange you can't upload pictures up here... oh well. via photobucket:

and yes, ALL button controls LIGHT up on the steering wheel, but only the cruise control buttons are functional and after going back and looking at the harness on the car and checking OEM ford websites it seems that the harnesses are all going to be the same, so upgrading the head unit SHOULD get the audio controls for us working... if any ford employees would like to shed light on this .... much appreciated haha

Thanks for the info and pics. The wheel looks great. I just may do this when my GT arrives. Too bad the audio controls don't work.

I see you have a base GT as well. Can I ask you a question: Does the radio on the base GT model have a compass and/or temperature readout on it? From what few pics I've been able to find of the base interior (which isn't many), this is not clear. I know the Shaker radio on the premium does. I really hope it has a compass readout. If not, I'll have to get an aftermarket rearview mirror with one and install it.

Thanks in advance for any reply.
