Get the billtet ones. I broke both of mine back when the car was new. Had them replaced under warranty and now I wont let anyone use/touch them ....

Haha, I had a friend break one off exiting the back seat of my first GT. Snagged on his pocket and POP!


He called it his Stage 1 weight reduction package. I loled just hard enough not to have to kill him....

Do yourself a favor and never ever put a duffle bag or backpack back there, as you will surely hook a strap around that stupid plastic piece and that will be the end of it.

I think when mine breaks again out of warranty, it might just sit that way for a while; I've started using the lower lever out of habit now because the upper one is so cheap.

I broke one of mine... glued the two pieces back together, and wrapped fiberglass-reinforced packing tape around it. (not the exposed part) It's held for 6 months now, and I go in the backseat almost daily.

the stock piece is garbage. For less than the cost of replacing them with stock junk you can get billet. Poor design by Ford, but at $30 each maybe they aint so dumb,,,,,,

Mine broke last year....I just flipped it over and shoved it back on. Hasn't come off since
