Default Pony fender emblem

I was thinking about adding the Pony emblem to my fenders. I like the look of the Pony package. I have the base 2010 V6 model.
I saw these on this website.

http://www.ninosport.com/Ford-Pony-F...6r3z16228b.htm

It mentions about alignment pins and adhesive backing.
Do these just stick on or does there have to be existing holes in fender for alignment?
Thanks

They are designed so they can be put on easily during assembly at the factory. I'm sure there are holes in the fenders of factory stangs w/pony pkg. You can probably cut the pins off the back and stick them on or drill holes. If it was me I'd cut the pins off.

Thanks for quick reply. Is the adhesive a reliable stick to the fender? does it stay on long? I assume so if it conforms to fender contour.

Yes there are alignment holes, and you can cut them off and still use the badges. Make certain not to damage the adhesive since that is the only adhesion you will have. Yes, the 3M adhesive is very good. Most cars that is all they use and there are no alignment holes. As far as the contour of the fenders I would check into that. Since the 05-09 are a little flatter on the side panels, I don't know how much of a difference there will be in the 2010 fender contours. You want complete adhesion, not partial adhesion due to fender contours, since that will lead to separation and drop off where you least expect it..

I have the Pony Package on my 2010 V6. When I put my side stripes on I had to remove the stock ones, and yes, there are holes there. If you already have the holes they line up perfectly, and it is completely flat there. If you don't have holes I'm not sure how well they would work. You would have to cut the prongs off the back of your new pony emblems enough to make sure that it's completely flat when you put them on.

Thanks for your input

I'm sure a Dremel would make easy work of those pesky prongs.

A pair of dykes is all it takes (It's a plastic emblem).

Dude, they prefer to be called lesbians.

I suggest just using any kind of pliers that have a cutting edge to them. Electricians pliers work great.
