I actually expect some things to go on the car by 200,000 miles. Even so, hopefully it won't be too expensive and better than buying a new car/Mustang.

I'm working on catching you. I posted here earlier when I had about 90k on my 07, now I'm at 112k. The only issue I have is the damn AC vent blend door regulator motor that's ticking in the dash for a few seconds when I start it up....I have the $15 part at the house, but haven't had time to open up the dash, other than that, the car runs STRONG!

It's probably been said before but everyone that thinks just because it's a Ford or because it's domestic, it's going to just conk out at 80k, should be directed to this thread

For the record, it's at 173,413...still perfect (crazy). I never kept a car past 50K until this one and that is with like 11 cars. Alternated between synthetic brands mobil 1 and royal purple (mainly mobil 1). FL820S Motorcraft filter 99% of the 4k-5k oil changes. Will be driving for some time to come so new mile updates will be posted.

That's great! Do the preventative stuff and you'll pass me!

Far too lazy to scroll through the entire thread at this point, but I need to ask: At what point were the mods done? Specifically, the tune.

There are some serious hounds over at TheMustangSource who are constantly babbling about how tuners like VMP, Brenspeed, Lethal, Evolution, etc don't care about messing up the engine with extreme tunes, and this thread sounds like a good place to point them, to, as well, assuming you've had them for a while. Keep going strong, man!

It has many mods (see sig) but no F.I. This is the best, most reliable car I've ever owned and I usually don't keep a car passed 60K. Car hasn't seen the dealer in about 2 years. Below is the recap with some updated routine maintenance.......How long will she go and is there another S197 out there of any year with more miles?

Ford Service
>>> Fuel Pump - had replaced as a preventative measure due to TSB
>>> Rear end whine - repaired early under warranty - bad clutch pack
>>> Coolant flush/fill
>>> Airbag recall - haven't had done

Maintenance By Me
>>> Approx 33 synthetic oil changes since 2k
>>> Multiple fuel filters
>>> Serpentine belt Twice as preventative measure
>>> Clean air filter
>>> Cabin filter
>>> RP fluid in trans (once) and rear diff
>>> Hawk Brakes/slotted rotors at about 125K?
>>> 4 sets of tires + oe
>>> Optima yellow top battery
>>> Spark plugs at 105k - tsb to the letter - no breakage
>>> Alternator at 155,000
>>> Added about 6 oz of radiator fluid the other day
>>> Couple tail light bulbs

Has not been done
>>> Starter
>>> Anything AC
>>> Clutch

Observations
>>> Steering rack still tight like new
>>> Runs perfectly (and strong)
>>> No smoke
>>> Uses about 1/4 quart oil after 5,000 miles
>>> EVERYTHING on the car still works

Clutch is still stock and tight. Burns virtually no oil between changes if any.
Thats Awesome, Mod motors are much more long term reliable than pushrods...however I do have 160k on my 95GT.
