No it's definitely my parking brake. It's that TSB that many of us on here experience.... Fortunately I haven't had any brake drag (that I've noticed) yet

Its the little rubber accordian boot thats faulty and allows water
to intrude into the assembly causing the parking brake to freeze
on if its applied and then allowed to freeze. Its just a spring that
releases the parking brake at the caliper and its not enough to
overcome the frozen water.
If your brake is off and you apply it when its frozen, you dont notice
it because of the mechanical advantage of the parking brake arm itself.
Get the accordian parking brake cable seals (2) replaced with the new
and improved ones listed on the TSB for frozen parking brakes on S197s.

Hey! Enough thread jacking!

Anyways, put the old girl up on the lift today and, sure enough, snapped parking brake cable. Pics. attached. Anyone know what part I'm looking for or do I have to buy all three segments of the cable?

Oh, and got some pics of the whip finally. If anyone is interested in painting their foglights like me, I'll post up a DIY.

For part numbers, here is a link to the Ford Service Manual. Goto the "Removal and Installation" and there is an exploded view that lists all the part numbers. You could also use these instructions and grade them for us to let us know how good/acurate they are....or fill in the blanks where they leave out with your DIY post.

Awesome. From the looks of that service manual, this going to be a piece of cake. I'll probably whip up a DIY next weekend after I have the parts ready to go.

Well, managed to get the job done tonight. Will probably post up a DIY this weekend when I find my USB cable. Still going to try to do the foglights DIY. Was wondering if there was any interest in a rear spoiler delete DIY as well.
