Question Headed Cross Country

I am about to make a trip from Virginia Beach to Missouri. My tune is for 93, I am sure there will be places that do not have that. I believe I should be fine as long has I take it easy.

When I used to go cross country in some of my pervious hot rods I would bring spare parts. Do you think it would be worth it to bring any? I will be bringing a fairly complete set of tools.

Thanks

I would bring your tuner just in case you need to switch down to 87. Never hurts to bring anything else you may need in case of a breakdown.

Good luck with your trip. This past October I made a cross country trip and back. I drove from San Diego, CA to Virginia Beach. I grew up in Virginia Beach and my family still lives in that area. Anyway it was just me and my dog. The hand held tuner came in handy. New Mexico only had 86, 88 and 90 octane.

I always keep my tuner and a small toolkit in my trunk just in case. Can't hurt

I'm from ST.Louis. All I've ever seen there is 91 there. I guess it depends on where he plans to go.

When I take my car on long trips I run 89 octane with my 91 tune. It won't hurt anything as long as you don't go WOT and aren't supercharged. Nevermind I see you are...better retune for at least 91, generally available everywhere.

Bring a good flashlight, can of fix-a-flat (knowing you will have to replace the tire anyway after using that stuff). I also pack a full size (18'' 275/40) wheel tire with me. If you get a flat on the rear don't run the donut. It will wear out your lsd clutch pack. Swap the rear to the front if you're not running staggered setup wheels/tires.
